Latest Police Outrage: Roadside Body Cavity Searches

So your a woman riding in a car on the highway. You look in the rear view mirror and to your discomfort see a police car with its lights on right behind you. You pull over. A police officer waddles over to your car. You look up at this brute. He is stone faced, expressionless. “Now listen to me” he hisses through lips covered with doughnut crumbs, “Get out of the car, give me your licence and registration then pull your pants down and bend over”. “Wait”, you say to yourself, “license and registration I can understand but what’s this stuff about pulling my pants down and bending over?”.
Welcome to the great state of Texas where the newest weapon in the war against drugs and common decency is in place. What is it you say? Roadside body cavity searches! That’s right ladies, body cavity searches. Just imagine being pulled over and made to stand there while a female officer takes her gloved hand and probes your vagina and anus for hidden contraband! I’m not making this up. On at least two occasions women who have been pulled over by the police have been, truthfully said, sexually assaulted by police who perform procedures by the side of the road that would make the most eminent gynecologist blush. And again, where’s the damn outrage? It’s not there! In any other civilized country such an incident, state sanctioned, would have set on fire a ferocious debate about civil liberties, overreach by police forces and the victimization of women. But not here! No, no! Not in the Land of the Free and Home of the Knave! The mass of Americans couldn’t care less. Why? Because it didn’t happen to them, that’s why! This sickening display, part of a war on women and not on drugs, causes not a ripple of concern among the American people.
I’m astounded that such practices can take place in this country without sparking outrage. I just don’t understand it!
